Conservation
The careful management and use of resources. Conservation. Conservation is using things wisely to make sure we have enough for the future.
Deforestation
The process of clearing forests. Deforestation. In simple terms, deforestation is cutting down trees in forests which can hurt animals and the environment.
Fossil fuel
An energy source made of the remains of organisms that lived long ago, like coal or oil, is called fossil fuel. Fossil fuel is like nature's "dinosaur juice" that gives us power from plants and animals from a long, long time ago.
Nonrenewable resource
A natural resource that is consumed faster than it can be created. Nonrenewable resource. In simple terms for kindergarten A nonrenewable resource is something we use that can run out and can't be made quickly again, like oil or coal.
Pollution
Adding harmful substances to the land, water, or air. Pollution. Pollution is when our environment gets dirty with bad things, making it unsafe for plants, animals, and people.
Recycling
Recovering useful material from waste for reuse. Recycling. Recycling is when we take old things we don't need anymore and turn them into something new and useful.
Renewable resource
A resource that is replaced by nature more quickly than it is consumed. Renewable resource. A renewable resource is something nature makes again and again, like sunlight or wind.
