Point Source Pollution

Pollution that comes from a specific source

Real World Example

Imagine you have a leaky faucet in your kitchen that drips water constantly, creating a small puddle on the floor. Just as the leak is clearly identifiable as the single source of water causing the puddle, point source pollution can be traced to a specific, identifiable origin, like a factory pipe discharging waste into a river. In this analogy, the leaky faucet represents the point source of pollution, the dripping water is akin to the pollutants being released, and the puddle is like the contaminated area being affected by those pollutants.
