Closed System

A physical system that does not allow transfer of matter, but allows transfer of energy

Real World Example

Imagine trying to stay warm inside your cozy house during a chilly winter evening. Just like your house, which keeps the cold air out but allows heat to escape through the walls and windows, a closed system in physics prevents matter from entering or leaving but permits the transfer of energy. In this analogy, your house represents the closed system, the walls and windows are the boundaries that keep air (matter) in or out, and the warmth escaping is akin to the energy transfer allowed by the system.
